May 13/14 Workshop!

Ronaye Matthew (CDC) and her team bring their expertise to our group May 13/14, 2016 for a foundational 2-day workshop: Getting Your Community Built with Preliminary Site Overview.

Ronaye has played a key role in most of the successfully completed cohousing projects in the lower mainland and on Vancouver Island - helping inform a group's choices along the cohousing path: forming, financing, organizing, site selection, feasibility, design, construction, facilitation, and move in.

At this workshop we will detail the steps ahead in our initiative and perform a preliminary overview of potential sites identified on the Saanich Peninsula for our cohousing project. We will go through the cohousing development process, the legal structures and requirements, roles and responsibilities of members and professionals, rezoning and development processes, process for securing a site, financial phases and cash flow timeline, overview sample development pro-forma, affordability including rental and non-market units and establishing feasibility.

If you are ready for an intensive learning experience, and want to add your voice to our initiative to help make cohousing happen on the Saanich Peninsula we invite you to register by May 10th and join in.
