Cohousing Guide Launch at Victoria's Public Library Oct 26th 10am

Cohousing Guide Launch

Seniors caring for each other, in community. That's what Senior Cohousing is all about – caring for each other. It's not a new idea, but it's an idea that has never been more relevant, necessary and innovative than it is today.

Over 10 million Canadians will be entering their 'seniors' years in the next 10 years and Canada simply does not currently have the capacity to house and care for our seniors adequately – yet.

Norway, Sweden and even the United States have been developing a model of community co-caring that is enviable, and completely duplicatable. And we've begun to do just that.
Come hear what's possible, what's exciting and what's happening in our our back yard as we launch Innovating Seniors Housing - a How-to Guide to Cohousing.

Harbourside Seniors Cohousing in Sooke and Canadian Senior Cohousing Society will be on hand to talk about the whys, the hows, and the whos of this growing and innovative movement.

The project is generously funded by the Real Estate Foundation of BC and the Community social Planning Council to research innovative models of housing and community living in Canada and elsewhere and apply best practices to different forms of seniors housing that enable people to age healthily in community.
